6 is so much better than 5!
Ahhhh.
Rajashree (Bikram's Wife) is back in town. Since having memorized and taught 6-7 postures last week and only one lecture, this week is one posture clinic a day and a lecture. My brain is back. I am sleeping deep. Stress is so much better here in yoga camp.
Week 6 is defiantly less stress. I memorized 4 postures this past weekend and I still have 2 more to teach in posture clinics and it's THURSDAY! That is awesome for me. Last week I was done with my weekend study postures by Tuesday.
Posture clinic on Tuesday was a roller coaster. I had a horrible dialogue presentation in the afternoon, beat myself up a bit, pushed the reset button and came back STRONG that evening with Full Locust Pose. I was so pissed off and so focused the dialogue just flowed. It felt good.
Our group is becoming very close and we all work together in the mornings before Yoga class and give each other so much support during posture clinics. Everyone has improved so much. Public speaking is the number one fear in America and it's been such a great process for all of us to overcome any fears we have of ourselves. You have to! There is no way around it. We have to perform each posture in a small room with 50 pairs of eyes watching and 3-6 teachers giving us immediate feedback. It's a bundle of nerves every time!
In yoga my hips are feeling better. My knees are still a struggle during Tree Stand and Toe Stand. You should feel some of the sensations I have in my spine during class - that is my body reorganizing. I push on through. You have to go through the pain to get to the body where it needs to be. Everyones pain tolerance is so much better. My body has never felt better. That is the thing:
PAIN IS HOW YOU PERCEIVE A SENSATION
Everyone here is tougher. It's nice. Finally, less complaining about everything.
Everyone has a glow about them. Bodies look great, skin, mental conditions, everything. Yoga works your whole body from the inside out, bones to the skin, coccyx to the toes.
A bunch of us were shooting the shit during a free moment. It's so interesting how Yoga has made an impact on so many people in so many different ways. Yoga reaches people through Athletics, Injuries, Drug Addictions, Mental Health Conditions, Children, Elderly, Science (NASA is coming to learn and work with Birkam to do a study because they want to send humans to Mars and will use Yoga to keep them in shape with no gravity!), it goes on and on and on. We all have our stories and all want to pass on Yoga to someone who may need it.
